BJ Cattle Co is owned and operated by BJ, Jody, Cody & Logan Scheirlinck. We bought our first Purebred Black Angus cow in 1995. How things have changed! We currently run 65 purebred Black Angus cows and an in-depth embryo transplant program.
Despite our smaller numbers, we are constantly striving for the best genetics possible. We have spent countless hours up and down the road sourcing highly productive seedstock. The donor cows pictured on our website are a showcase of our efforts and are all cows that we are very proud of. We feel the quality you will find here will fit with the top end of many programs.
As you browse through our website, you will see our program is based on cattle that have tremendous muscle shape and productivity. At BJ Cattle Co, we do not expect a sire to do ‘all the work,’ instead relying on the mother cow to stamp her calves with muscle, performance and power.
We have put a lot of different pedigrees to work building a strong maternal base and we refuse to chase fads. We simply want to raise some of the biggest, stoutest, best quality Angus genetics you can find. We believe cattle with loads of muscle, performance, maternal strength, and longevity will sell themselves.
As far as our bull pen goes, we feel we have a great set of bulls that will fit the seedstock producer as well as top notch ranch bulls that will go out and make you proud everyday that you own them. That is why over 80% of our bulls sell to repeat customers! We sell the majority of our bulls by private treaty in the fall. As well, we consign a select group of bulls each year to the Medicine Hat Bull Sale which is held annually in mid-March. Our show prospect heifer calves are sold in the fall by private treaty. Additionally, we enjoy showing cattle at the Canadian Western Agribition and feel it is a good venue for us to market our cattle.
We are proud to have sold our genetics to Scotland, Ireland, England, Denmark, USA, as well as throughout Canada. We look forward to meeting new people and staying in touch with all of our friends. Be sure to drop me an email, or give me a call about our program. Thanks for stopping by!
